
Aerospace technician
Job Description:
Aerospace technicians are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and testing aircraft and spacecraft systems. They work on a variety of aircraft and spacecraft, including commercial and military planes, helicopters, and satellites.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting and maintaining aircraft systems, including engines, electrical systems, and flight controls
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions
- Conducting routine maintenance and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Installing and modifying aircraft systems and components
- Using specialized tools and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance
- Keeping detailed records of maintenance and repair work
- Communicating with other members of the maintenance team to ensure efficient and safe operations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training in aerospace technology or related field
- Experience working with aircraft and spacecraft systems
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance (if applicable)
- A&P license is preferred but not required.
