Position Title: Train Conductor

Job Summary

The Train Conductor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of freight or passenger trains. This includes ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, coordinating with other train crew members, and communicating with dispatchers and other personnel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives and trains safely and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and rules
• Communicate with dispatchers and other personnel as needed
• Coordinate with other train crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of trains
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of locomotives and train cars
• Ensure that trains are loaded and secured properly
• Maintain accurate records of train movements and activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Completion of a railroad training program
• Experience operating locomotives and/or trains
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
